Cleveland-These are the standings of the North Coast Bowling Association's Friday night bowling league at the end of the games on October 16.

The Friday night league is a fun social league with plenty of openings. Both full-time bowlers as well as alternates are needed. No experience is necessary. Bowling begins at 7 pm Fridays at Ambassador Superior Lanes, 1500 Superior Ave. in downtown Cleveland, and finishes by 9:30 pm.

Two arrested in New York hate assault

New York City-A second suspect has been arrested in the apparent hate assault that left a 49-year-old New York City gay man in a medically induced coma.

Police say 21-year-old Daniel Rodriguez was taken into custody in Norfolk, Va. Tuesday night. Charges are pending and police detectives are in the process of returning him to New York.

Earlier on October 13, 26-year-old Daniel Aleman was arraigned on a charge of assault as a hate crimes. He faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted. A telephone call to his attorney was not immediately returned.

Investigators say the two Queens men taunted Jack Price and yelled anti-gay slurs before punching and kicking him the previous Thursday after he left a 24-hour deli near his home in Queens.

Price suffered a fractured jaw and ribs, the collapse of both of his lungs, and a lacerated spleen.

A friend of Rodriguez whose arm is tattooed with the full text of a Bible verse used against gay people claimed that Price came on to his attackers, so the assault is not a hate crime.

London man killed in gaybashing

London-Three teenagers were arrested in the beating death of a 62-year old gay man in Trafalgar Square.

One 18-year old man and two women, each a year younger, were arrested for the crime.

On September 25, Ian Baynham was verbally assaulted by a woman in a group. When he stood up to the group, he was kicked and punched, suffering serious head injuries.

He died two weeks later in the hospital. A 30-year-old who was with Baynham was also attacked, but received only minor injuries.
